I upgraded the GPU and connected two 8-pin cables that came with my PSU (PurePower 11). Now I only see a red CPU light and no video output. My motherboard is an MSI Z590 A Pro, and all fans and RGB still function, including the CPU fan. I’ve tried several things: unplugging the cables, removing the CMOS battery, shorting the JBAT1 pins as per MSI instructions, and checking if other PSU cables are loose.

Hi, from >Lifewire, a red light indicates the motherboard isn't recognizing the CPU. This might mean several issues: the CPU isn't properly connected, a pin is bent, or the fan isn't plugged in. Another possibility is a dead CMOS battery triggering the light.

My computer was functioning properly until I powered it down and unplugged it. After that, I connected two 8-pin cables to the power supply and now the CPU indicator lights up, even though I removed those cables.

Check if you can borrow another supported CPU and see if it boots. Then try installing the house drivers. Consider using a different button battery or swapping out the old one. Also, try reseating the GPU since that might be the issue.

I don’t have a method to acquire another CPU. I also unplugged and plugged the GPU multiple times while resetting the CMOS. Although changing RAM sometimes lets me boot, then the MSI logo freezes and nothing else occurs.
