Red Dead Redemption 2 crashing issues.
Red Dead Redemption 2 crashing issues.
My system specifications are as follows: Asus Rampage Formula X48 motherboard, Intel Q9650 processor (4.15 GHz), 8 GB DDR2 memory (920 MHz), Nvidia GTX 1060 6GB graphics card, Samsung 850 Evo 500GB SSD, and four 320 GB HDDs configured in a RAID striped array. I have a Seasonic 650 80+ Bronze power supply.
I can start the game but experience crashes when attempting to load the main story. I retain access to all menus.
I have attempted the following troubleshooting steps: disabling overclocking, updating the BIOS, updating Windows, updating drivers, utilizing Vulkan/Direct X 12 APIs, running in windowed mode, setting graphics to minimum, testing with a different storage device, running as administrator, and assigning high priority. I also executed the following shell commands: “sfc /scannow” and “DISM /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth.”
I am at a loss for solutions and suspect a lack of CPU instructions may be the cause.
When it crashes, are you receiving any error messages? Does the screen change color, such as blue or black? Is the PC rebooting or simply crashing to the desktop? Which storage device do you have your operating system and video games installed on – an HDD or an SSD? You should also obtain another 8 GB of RAM. Many games will state that 8 GB is the minimum requirement, but 16 GB should be considered the true minimum for video games.
From what source did you obtain the game? Have you attempted to check for file integrity issues?
I have resolved this. The instructions were correct. It is unfortunate that I cannot conclude the thread with my response. Everything is fine. Thank you anyway, everyone.
