If no changes have been made to the files, a deep scan will locate them. Be aware that sometimes filenames might be missing and assigned random values, so you might need to restore every file you can and examine them all. A good tip: if the scan detects files, move them to another hard drive—not just another partition, but a distinct physical device. Recovery software is often warned about overwriting data during recovery attempts, which can permanently damage or erase those files.
