Swapped cases, numbered my drives and cables. Everything seems fine except one missing drive on my array. That must be important for raid10 with eight drives…? X570 model. I ran the routine—checked SATA, power, everything. No drives left. A few days later I faced issues; my Z drive vanished. I opened the BIOS and saw three of the eight drives still active. I’m now using Hiren to copy each drive individually to my server via a USB3 adapter. All are 2.5” and power isn’t an issue. Any advice on next steps? It’s 300g on the first drive and it should take another 3 hours or more, but it’s using the network connection at about 50 Mbps.

Hardware raid setup via BIOS on my crosshair 8 motherboard. Required to install Windows raid drivers so the system identifies the correct drives instead of others. Currently using aeomi for backup to a server because my PC lacks sufficient free space—only 8x 1TB drives available. The third drive is being copied, so any advice would be appreciated. I’m considering rebuilding the raid with software on Hiren’s Windows PE, though I’m unsure if the right tools are available for cloning or backing up the disc without seeing its file extension. File explorer doesn’t allow browsing shared files, but within an app I can access it without issues.
