Record Breaker - Maximum CPU Frequency Achieved
Record Breaker - Maximum CPU Frequency Achieved
Hello, in 2011 a Guinness World Record was set for the highest CPU overclock. An AMD FX 8150 ran at 8.4GHz with a 31x multiplier and 271.9MHz bus speed, using 2.016V. I’m curious—does this record still stand, or has someone surpassed it? A YouTube link is attached for those who want to watch the 8.4GHz FX 8150 in action.
Yeah, a 8350 at alomst 8.8ghz. But that is 2c/2t only, so pretty slow for real multi tasking use. https://rog.asus.com/articles/overclocki...-ever-cpu/
FX maintains the lead. It's unlikely we'll witness a break until AMD's CPU design prioritizes higher clock speeds over gaming performance. They likely disabled multiple cores to achieve that speed.
With Intel's improved performance per instruction, a stock 6700K or 7700K would likely outperform the current setup, similar to what Cinebench shows.
literally a promise of future products or services that have not yet been developed.
