Hello everyone! I set up a strong Windows XP system optimized for running games from 2003 to 2008. Here are the details: Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 at 3GHz, Asus P5G41T-M LX LGA775, Kingston 4GB RAM at 1333MHz CL9, Nvidia GeForce 8800 GTS, 512MB GDDR5 memory, Seagate Momentus 5400.4 with 250GB storage, a 250W PSU for the motherboard and HDD, and a 6-pin GPU power supply. The operating system is Windows XP Black Edition 2015. Currently installed games include NFS Underground 2, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Team Fortress 2, CS:GO, Portal 2, Half-Life 2, Left 4 Dead 2, Quake 3, and several others.

The 8800GTS supports Crysis, and at reduced performance levels you can play Skyrim—depending on your preference for gaming experiences.

Also consider Minesweeper and Pinball; keep an eye on Burnout Paradise, and don’t forget Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit.

Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2 are considered among the best Jedi Knight series, offering the most enjoyable experiences. They should all be available on Steam.

Pharaoh (rts) Age of Empires (rts) Call of Duty (fps) Fallout (rpg) Fallout 2 (rpg) Redfaction (fps) Redfaction II (was likely better than the first) (fps) Septerra core (rpg) Soldier of Fortune (fps) Fallout 3 is a solid choice, as it causes a 10% drop in XP crashes, letting you play 10–20 minutes before it fails. Other suggestions I can't recall right now.

The classic SimCity titles should work well with this setup. Since you're using XP, have you activated the Embedded/POSready adjustment, or are you intending to play without an online connection?

You're running Windows XP Black Edition, which blocks automatic updates.

I own an old laptop running a single-core Celeron with just 2 GB of RAM. My gaming setup includes GTA San Andreas, TW: Shogun 2, Civilization V, and Age of Empires 3. As a strategy enthusiast, I’m aware these titles usually receive positive reviews.
