Recommended router for Starlink with customizable signal power
You don't need to broadcast the SSID. Smart users can view it, while others remain hidden. The main drawbacks are entering it manually at first and possible reconnect issues with older gadgets. Most routers support this option. For "WiFi strength adjustability," use "transmit power" – usually shown in dBm, mW, or percentage. I haven't purchased a new router recently, so I can't offer specific advice.
Usually this doesn't enhance protection, so I recommend against it. Displaying a network name isn't a major concern, so I'm unsure what you're aiming for.
The situation I thought of was that the person doesn't want neighbors to discover he has WiFi. This avoids them asking for the password because of concerns like "could you share your WiFi password with me because...". In this case, hiding the SSID could be more effective than lowering transmission power. Simply reducing power might not stop a neighbor from finding out if they visit and check their phone.
