Hello. I'm planning a new build and want to modify the i7 6700k by adjusting its Turbo frequency while keeping the base speed intact. I aim to maintain the power-saving settings that reduce clock speed during idle or light tasks. My goal is to only tweak the Turbo setting without affecting the default performance.

I intend to use a Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM cooler and plan to target an OC between 4.6 and 4.7, which appears achievable based on my previous searches.

The motherboard I'm considering is the Asus Z170-A.

My current build details can be found here:

However, when I search for "Asus Z170-A Turbo Overclock i7 6700k" on Google, I'm having trouble finding any results that show someone successfully overclocked the processor while preserving power-saving features. Could you confirm if this is feasible with this board? Or suggest another board where this has been done before? I'm aiming for a price around $150 but up to $200 if needed.

I enjoy that motherboard. I have a similar one too, which is a Z97-A. You don't need an expensive one to achieve a good overclock. It really depends on the CPU silicon and luck.
