Yes and no, the internet from an ISP isn't guaranteed to improve if your speed doesn't exceed the motherboard limits. A LAN connection will boost performance, but only if both devices support 2.5G Ethernet or better. The actual speed depends on the weakest component in the setup. Using a PRIME board with a Wi-Fi card can save you 30 to 40 dollars compared to a pricier model, so the choice is yours.
