You're running a powerful setup with Windows 2000, 7, and 10 in triple boot. The hardware is more than capable of handling demanding games, and you're already set up for titles like The Witcher 3. For Windows 2000, I suggest games that were popular back then or still work well today. Look into titles like Age of Empires, Civilization VI, or even older classics such as Diablo II or StarCraft. If you're open to modern ports, many games from the 2000s have been re-released for Windows XP or later. Let me know if you want more specific recommendations!

It's my favorite game, but it doesn't perform well on newer systems.

Thanks!, I'll give it a shot. I believed it's the newer operating systems that lead to these performance problems with older games.

It performs better with the built-in graphics on my first-gen i5 laptop than with the GTX 980 Superclocked. Both operating systems are using the same resolution.

I’m looking for the typical frames per second on both platforms.

On the iGPU I maintained steady 60 frames per second at full settings. With GTX 980, performance exceeded 450 frames, though it experienced frequent stutters and long pauses every few seconds, rendering gameplay difficult.

It seems you're referring to optimizing performance. Reducing the frame rate to around 300 frames per second can lead to noticeable gains.

Original releases of Resident Evil 1, 2, and 3 are available via the archive with patches for newer systems and mod compatibility. These titles are considered abandonware, as no developers profit from them today. Turok 1 and 2 have updated versions on Steam and GOG.
