Hi,
You're looking for a 2 in 1 laptop designed for tablet use, lasting about 4-5 hours at a time. It should run on Windows with an i5, i7, Ryzen 5 or 7 processor. You're right to worry about ventilation—being closed off can make it run hotter than in a regular laptop. Some HP X360 models have been reported to overheat even in laptop mode, with poor battery life and screen issues like popping screens or broken hinges. The Lenovo Yoga gets good reviews but often needs repairs for screens, motherboards, or cables. In Australia, the main options seem to be HP, Lenovo, Dell, and a few expensive Asus models. Do you have any advice or suggestions? Thanks.
I don't think things could be any worse than the laptop on a flat surface since the feet will stop the screen from touching its bottom and back. Also, it seems unlikely the device is plugged in or doing heavy work while in tablet mode. Many laptop CPUs are working well with passive cooling now. Yet these machines are still old, often needing repairs, and people using them do various things. If a place can fix it easily, that's actually a positive thing.
