Hi, I bought my PC from the FB marketplace at a low price. My current specs are: CPU - AMD Ryzen 3 2200G, RAM - 16GB, GPU - GTX 1070Ti, Motherboard - MSI MORTAR MAX AM4. I’m thinking about upgrading to a Ryzen 5 5600, thinking it might help with the graphics performance. I’ve noticed in some games I can run smoothly even with low settings, but others I struggle. Could someone confirm if the CPU could be limiting the graphics, or is that just a rumor?
Good evening, I’m not sure if the 5600 will cause a GPU bottleneck but I can offer some advice. You might consider adding an R5 4500; my GTX 1070 worked well with it. Alternatively, you could go for a CPU upgrade if you’re comfortable. The biggest risk is needing to upgrade the GPU, even with a minor bottleneck, it won’t significantly affect performance.
No issues expected. The 5600 offers a solid upgrade, providing excellent value for money and clearly surpassing the 2200G. My GPU appears to be in good shape, making an upgrade unnecessary right now. However, if you plan to upgrade later, the 5600 will likely meet most GPU requirements.
