Last year a friend bought the Corsair K57 Wireless Gaming Bundle for around $100. It includes a wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse from Corsair. The main advantage for me is that after unplugging the cables, both devices can use the same USB port. This means I can easily switch between my PC and laptop without having to disconnect and reconnect the cables. Additionally, it’s said to offer good gaming performance.

I’m wondering if there are other options similar to this bundle—either cheaper or in the same price range—that allow both a keyboard and a mouse to be wireless together but still use only one USB port on my laptop? Has anyone tried this setup before? I’m also open to suggestions.

P.S. I wasn’t sure if this was meant to be a question or a discussion, so I marked it as a question.

Why not search for a USB hub tailored for your laptop in particular? Regarding your USB dongle concern, it might be worth exploring Bluetooth keyboards that connect with your laptop's built-in Bluetooth adapter.

Since I want to match the same experience as the Corsair bundle, another friend had a hub that caused issues. He thought some connected components didn’t work well, especially when plugged in separately from the hub. I’m trying to steer clear of USB hubs.
EDIT: We discussed this with him. He had a few USB hubs and his mouse and keyboard didn’t function properly with them—especially wireless ones. The mouse would miss big areas of the screen, and the keyboard wouldn’t register all the keys he pressed.

for a casual gamer any mouse works fine...
if you're competitive avoid wireless options (you might want to skip usb too so your devices don't share bandwidth). maybe consider a ps2 port interface?
if you're feeling confident I suggest the logitech g502 lightspeed mouse and the logitech g915 lightspeed clicky keyboard (both offer wireless or wired choices)

The USB wireless connection would serve solely professional purposes, allowing me to switch between tasks with just one device slot. During gaming sessions, I'd maintain a wired keyboard connection via cable, while the mouse would operate wirelessly, preventing bandwidth conflicts. The gaming experience would blend competitive and casual modes, with moderate competition.

Yes, a keyboard typically features a USB port where you can connect your mouse.
