Are there any Avast users around? It seems like most of us receive several virus definition update alerts each day, similar to what you experience with the Steam beta. The constant restarts can be frustrating.
You can open Regedit and also turn off alerts in the Avast app.
It's not only you—registration is meant to stay active for a year, yet I'd find it annoying to have to re-register regularly!
