Windows has seen significant changes over time. With the same GPU and PSU, newer components like DDR5 memory and a faster CPU are being used. The graphics card is now running at higher speeds, but its overall performance score has dropped about 25%.
Did you perform any Process Lasso? Confirm it uses the X3D Chiplet instead of a standard one. Are you operating at a new resolution? Beyond that, it depends on understanding what’s consuming GPU resources like Wallpaper Engine. Is this a fresh Windows update? Because 9950x3D needs a fresh install to work properly. Your GPU performance was low, but this might also relate to CPU problems—try this approach.
Same settings and displays used. I avoided the Taichi "gaming mode" in BIOS because it actually turns off CCD1. The CPU core performed noticeably better in 3Dmark. However, the GPU score is about 30% lower, even though the CPU (single core) is faster, RAM is quicker, and the SSD runs at Gen4 speeds while the GPU uses Gen5 (compared to Gen3). I'm sure I overlooked something in the BIOS settings.
