I'm not sure what's happening. I thought my i7 12700 had 12 cores and 20 threads. Could it just be a Windows 10 issue? I tried to look around as much as I could, but I'm running late for bed. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks.

Check the exact details of the i7 12700. I haven’t seen any newer processors beyond my 10th gen i7 yet. The specs you mentioned are from Intel’s official site, but it seems the display only shows P Cores. Updated November 13, 2022 by TylerD321.

No, I'm not using the standard BIOS or Windows boot configurations.

Disable the processor count setting and let it allocate the maximum available resources.

Open bar configuration in msconfig, locate the boot threads option and set it to 12. Uncheck the box and restart the system 10,000 times to resolve the issue I encountered with my Ryzen 1700 five years ago.

I just finished the build and got the bundle from Micro Center. It came with an i7-12700, an ASUS TUF Gaming Z690 Plus, and a Wi-Fi d4. Ugh, PCs can be tricky but I really love them.
