I'm using a 9th gen I5 in an ASRock B365M Phantom Gaming 4 right now. I'm checking if it's safe to upgrade to the latest BIOS—currently it's P1.00, and the newest version is P4.20.

It’s fine to refresh it, but most people agree to upgrade only when you’re facing problems, not just to avoid risking the motherboard.

Your electricity might be out. Check the source and see if it's working.

Because of power loss, it doesn't seem to create any compatibility problems. You're still experiencing freezes occasionally, but they resolve quickly.

I've just upgraded to version 4.30 without any problems, just in case anyone requires this update. Appreciate your prompt responses from the start!
