I've observed some unusual behavior with newer 3D games on older systems. When antialiasing is turned on and you watch a fast-moving scene—such as a car speeding or a gun swinging—you might notice faint black streaks. These trails disappear when antialiasing is disabled, restoring a smoother look. The only case where this happens is with super-sampling enabled. Games tested include Forza Horizon 5, WarThunder, Wolfenstein II, Enlisted, and CyberPunk 2077. What are your thoughts? Could this be specific to my setup or a common issue among others? I'm curious about any other unusual effects players have reported. Edit: My machine runs at 144Hz, so refresh rate isn't the issue.
I believe it also depends on the monitor model, though I’m not sure if TAA triggers it. If it does, other types might not cause it. For clarity, there’s no visible trailing with TAA on my old Samsung screen, but I’m not certain about my new MSI display either. OP suggests knowing your monitor’s model and any special features would help. What full specifications do you have for your hardware?
