It appears developers are recommending 8GB RAM as a baseline, even though your system likely handles the game’s needs without issues. This could be a cautious approach to ensure smooth performance across all background tasks. It might indeed be a reasonable buffer for general use, but it’s worth checking if your specific setup truly matches those demands.

Certainly popular titles with limited memory have sometimes consumed as much as 12GB from my 16GB RAM. This means some games inflate their needs while others downplay them.

Typically, triple A games don’t require much RAM—around 6 GB or less. This helps with background tasks and maintains stable processor performance.

What are you asking? It sounds like you're confused about storage recommendations. They often suggest 16GB for certain devices.

Trying to create a very low-cost setup for someone to enjoy No Man's Sky. I have 8GB of storage. That’s clearly not an optimized version, right? The game runs fine on the lowest settings (as the minimum requirement), but Fallout 4 never needs more than 4GB even at high or ultra levels. For the minimum specs, Fallout 4 suggests 8GB is enough and even better. So...?

the link provided shows it’s not possible to reach a minimum resolution of 4K.

They boost the RAM specs beyond the baseline to accommodate modifications, yet the Phenom II X4 945 running at 550Ti will manage everything smoothly. Got it!

Well windows demands a lot of memory lately, especially with high-end settings. Running on 2-3Gb continuously is common. Just 4gb feels slow even with modest graphics. All that RAM goes into storing and loading textures for everything displayed. They’re moving toward suggesting 16gigs or more, plus multiple cores, which explains the surprise.
