I damaged my z390 motherboard while changing cases (twisted pins) and opted for a 12th Gen Intel 12700kf with a Gigabyte Aorus Z690 Elite AX DDR4 board because no z390 models were available. I’m using four RAM sticks, two Corsair Vengeance 3200MHz and two Crucial Balistics 3200MHz units. Everything functioned perfectly on my old board but this new configuration is causing issues. After powering on, the PC freezes in a continuous restart loop without entering BIOS. It only starts with just the Crucial RAM, though it later works with just the Corsair RAM—suggesting those are functional. Oddly, when RAM is placed in slots A2 and B2 it fails to boot, but with slots A1 and B1 it does. Right now I’m limited to using only the Crucial RAM in A1 and B1 or risking failure. I’ve updated the BIOS to the latest version from Gigabyte’s site for this model. Both CPUs and RAM support 3200MHz, but mixing RAM sticks doesn’t yield consistent results. When I enable XMP and attempt a boot, the screen remains black; I often have to unplug the PC and wait for it to load into BIOS, sometimes needing multiple tries. I’m unsure what next steps to take.

Gigabyte Z690 boards often face problems with RAM compatibility, making it unreliable to run two sticks at 3600MHz consistently. Using four sticks is even more problematic, especially if they don’t match.

I discovered the issue, I had altered the CPU connections. The store refused to replace the one-day-old motherboard because of the bent pins, so I purchased another one... I plan to send the damaged motherboard to Gigabyte for repair and then list it on OfferUp. That's what happened due to improper CPU installation.
