Purchased a new Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) with 3600MHz CL18 but it doesn’t work with XMP 3600MHz or even at 3200MHz. System details: Ryzen 5 5600X (claimed to handle up to 3200MHz) with 3060ti FE ASRock x470 master SLI (advertised for 3200MHz non-OC for Vermeer) running BIOS version 4.40. Corsair 750W (Gold). Normal operating speed is capped at 3000MHz, matching the previous sticks that claimed 3000MHz support. Memory slots are A1 and B1.
Really, the gap isn't significant between 3000 and 3600. Anything over 2666 is generally considered OC. Make sure the RAM kit appears in the QVL for the motherboard.
If you need it, I can provide it. Just let me know if you're okay with a 3600 response or if you specifically require something from the QVL.
Theres no point in buying new rams for higher speed unless were talking garbage hynix mfr that can only do 3466 to hynix djrs that can do 5200+ (assuming you get klevvs or 4000+ bins) Return those new rams and lets see what we can do with the old rams overclocking wise, just take a thaiphoon burner screenie of both the old and new rams to know what ics theyre using
yeah and some of the new ones say they support 7600 speeds on ddr 5 and have absolutly no ram kits on the QVL ... so it's more of a lotto for you then.. if you get lucky or not. XMP is for intel chips.. AMD is named DOCP.. look for sticks that are AMD tested. there is difference there too.
The latest 3600c18 kit seems average. Afr doesn't stand out much.
