External drive is a Western Digital My Passport 4TB. Purchased it yesterday. I was moving video files from a 2.5 inch internal drive connected to the front bay on my CM Stormtrooper to an external drive. Just installed Windows 10, and I’m glad I moved from Windows 7. I started a copy from the internal drive to the external one. Turned off the screen and went to sleep. Woke up to find the PC asking for admin permission to copy the file. Surprised—expected the transfer to finish after waking up, but it didn’t. I’m confused about why permission is needed. These files are videos I filmed on my phone, moved to the internal drive, then needed to be copied to the external drive. The permission pause seems unnecessary. Anyone know why this happens or how to avoid it? Thanks. EDIT: Updated—used the same front USB 3.0 port consistently; no issues there.
