Hey everyone, yesterday I assembled a new PC. From the first boot, error lights appeared on the motherboard. All fans and front lights were fine. Initially it was the CPU and RAM indicators. After several careful steps—re-seating components, trying with or without RAM, resetting CMOS—I finally got past the issue, seeing a green light which confirmed no OS was found (GPU not detected). Then I connected the GPU, and the GPU light turned on. I rechecked everything, triple-verified the wiring, reset CMOS again, tried without GPU first, then with it. Still nothing. After a long day of failed attempts, I went to sleep. Woke up later and booted again, hoping for a miracle. Now the RAM light is back. It feels like I’m starting over. Do you have any advice? I’ve tried: checking HDMI and display port cables, confirming it’s plugged into the GPU not the motherboard, testing on another PC, triple-verifying all wires on the motherboard, resetting CMOS twice, booting without GPU first, then with both, using one RAM stick. My specs are: motherboard: MSI Pro B650 P, WiFi GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 4070, Ventus 3x OC, Ryzen 7 7700X, RAM: Corsair Dd5 Vengeance 2x16GB, SSD: WD Black 1TB, Power Supply: NZXT 650 Gold. English is my second language. Sorry for any mistakes. Edited July 6, 2023 by beepboop01 added info

Check the pins in the socket. Since you reseated multiple times it's possible pins got damaged.

The board can change the Bios independently of the CPU.

It features a flash bios button on the back; I’ll review the manual to understand its function.

It should have been included, likely because AMD mandates AM5 boards support BIOS flashback.

I updated the BIOS on a USB drive and labeled it msi.rom following the guide for the motherboard. Connected it into the USB slot for the BIOS and pressed the button for 4 seconds. The white LED for flashing appears, but the debug LED remains inactive as described in the manual.

I just reinitialized the CMOS using the JBAT1 pins and attempted once more, but the BIOS doesn't update via USB. Additionally, all debug lights have been turned off, yet the screen remains dark. Any suggestions? Edited July 6, 2023 by beepboop01 wording

Without the GPU, the power indicator for it stays off. During startup, the CPU and RAM illuminate first, then after a few seconds they turn off, but the process doesn’t seem to continue past that point. There should be a GPU indicator light if it’s not installed.
