Hey everyone, I just began a fresh build for someone special this Christmas. After trying a faulty MOBO that came pre-assembled with damaged pins from Amazon, I replaced it. I updated the BIOS, set it to EXPO mode, installed Windows 11 and drivers. She played for a night, then we went out for breakfast. When she got home, her PC was off and wouldn<|pad|> to boot. I tried a few times, and eventually it started Windows. I turned it off to test if it would keep working, but it didn’t. I’ve taken it apart and put it back together again, testing each RAM stick and socket—even without the GPU. Still nothing. Got any suggestions? I’m considering a different motherboard next time.

I can review the error indicators after a failure.

Two red indicators are active—CPU and RAM are operational. I've also attempted to reset the CMOS.

The odor strongly reminds me of a faulty mobile device. In my view, you should send it back before the return period ends.

you said you reassembled it so im assuming you also reseated the cpu, after that theres not much to be done, other than maybe a bios update (if your board supports updating without a cpu)
