Recent bios updates have some concerns.
Hi, I was thinking about trying to boost my Ryzen 2600 first, so I checked the BIOS before it was a big deal. That turned out to be a wrong move since the update was for a newer motherboard. After switching to the latest BIOS for my MSI B450 A Pro, things started to decline quickly. I noticed something odd when the system restarted right after the flash—both the BIOS and CPU fan made loud noises (usually quiet otherwise). When I opened Windows and ran Cinebench, my score dropped from around 2650 to about 1300. I expected a reset but couldn’t go back further because the BIOS I had was for an older Ryzen model. I’ve tried all the newer BIOS versions since then, but the problem keeps happening. I managed to lower the fan speeds with smart control, but the CPU remains very slow. The chipset drivers and Windows updates didn’t help. Any advice on fixing this?
I updated the windows and everything looks normal again. No need to tweak the BIOS anymore.
