Hello, I’m experiencing around 250Mbps with my gigabit internet from Rogers. It seems to be impacting just my computer, while others in the house get close to 1Gbps. I’m using a Cat6 cable from the modem straight to my desktop. I’ve updated the Ethernet drivers and motherboard via MSI Live 6. Someone could help me understand why I’m only getting a quarter of the expected speed. My system specs are: Ryzen 1600, MSI x370 SLI, plus 16GB RAM, GSKill GTX 1080 Ti.

250MBps equals 2Gbps, but a gigabit card isn't capable of handling that speed.

A technician previously visited to assess the situation. They confirmed there was a problem with my computer, noting that all other functions are operating normally.

Switch to another cable, as a broken one often drops performance to 100mbps or less...
