Hello everyone! I recently upgraded my system with a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM because it had been overdue for a long time. I’m pretty sure the issue lies with the board or its drivers, but my internet speed remains stuck at 100Mbps even though I used to get much faster (around 600Mbps). Back then, my setup was an i5-3570+GA-H61M-DS3. Now: CPU is Ryzen 5 5600 (stock), motherboard is Gigabyte A520M DS3H, RAM is G.Skill Trident Z Neo 2x8GB CL16 at 3200MHZ, SSD is Kingston NV2 500GB, PSU is Corsair CV550. My Ethernet cable is CAT5e, which should support higher speeds, and I’ve confirmed my internet works well over 100Mbps on other devices. I set the adapter to 1Gbps with Auto Negotiation, but it didn’t work. It’s a fresh Windows install. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a hardware issue since you already pretty much did what you had to. Driver update didnt fix it, and manually setting speed did nothing, sounds like something isnt working on it. You may want to try a Gigabit Ethernet PCIE card and see but thats pretty meh seeing as the boards should work.

I’d rather try buying an Ethernet PCIE card first, but I’m ordering a CAT6 cable to check if the issue lies with my cable. It’s unclear if this helps, though the port shows a solid green light and blinking orange—where I saw it meant 100Mbps.

You can observe from the details that only a 100Mbps connection is being negotiated. I’d begin with the cable, since that’s the most probable issue.
