It occurred to me too. I tried Windows Update, and it found drivers for my GTX580.

Windows 10 automatically sets up drivers during the update. Remove all NVIDIA programs and allow the update to handle everything. Otherwise, conflicts may arise and you might end up without working drivers.

I faced a comparable problem and ceased attempting to install the NVIDIA version, allowing Windows to handle it automatically. It functioned properly.

Install both drivers by uninstalling them first, then launch GeForce Experience upon restart to apply the updates
