Earlier this process, I mistakenly purchased the ASUS TUF z690 without realizing it wouldn’t support the 13700k out of the box or had BIOS Flashback. Now I’ve switched to the MSI MAG z690 Tomahawk, which has arrived today—hopefully this is when I can assemble the PC. I have a few questions: 1. Online sources suggest a specific USB might be needed for the BIOS Flashback port. Which one should I buy? Can I find it in-store or just online? 2. Should I always choose the newest BIOS version? Sometimes people stick to older ones for stability reasons, like with NVIDIA drivers, even though newer versions can have bugs or performance hiccups. I’m not sure if that’s a good idea. What BIOS should I download? It needs to support at least the 13th generation. That’s about it for now. I’m planning to build this week and hoping everything works out. Thanks!

1. Look for any USB drive that uses FAT32 format; you can create it yourself. For example, I use an old 160GB HDD for my BIOS update, but please don’t do the same—it’s not safe.
2. Any type works, just check online for possible problems.
