I'm working with my second motherboard purchased from Newegg. Over the weekend I spent time trying to fix the problem myself. Here are the details of my build:

Power Supply: EVGA 600W 80+ B GPU
Graphics Card: ASUS Strix GTX 1070
Processor: Ryzen 2700x
Cooler: Corsair H100i
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4
Case: Corsair Backstory – first board booted fine, but an orange light appeared in the top-right corner. I thought it was a RAM issue and the initial RAM set wasn't compatible, so I returned it to the store for the Vengeance model. When it came back, the orange light persisted.

A university IT colleague tested the RAM sticks and confirmed they worked, so I sent the motherboard back. Newegg declared it defective and provided a replacement after two weeks.

Proof of the original board functioning is shown below, but it refused to power on at all. Despite double-checking connections, ensuring all parts were secured, and verifying the standby lights, the ASUS light and cooler LEDs remained inactive.

My troubleshooting steps included:
- Removing the motherboard to inspect grounding issues (none found).
- Blowing out the case with compressed air to avoid dust interference.
- Confirming all components were properly seated in the case.
- Checking wiring near the power and reset switch for loose connections.

I also double-checked the standby indicators and the ASUS motherboard light, but they didn’t activate.

This situation has left me at the end of my rope—busy with seminar work and nearing the return deadline. I’m hoping to get a new board soon, or at least resolve this before spring break ends.

Reset the CMOS and attempt to start... I saw my Crosshair VII Hero has an unusually extended cold boot delay.

I removed the CMOS battery right away and allowed it to fully discharge. I’ll reinstall it in about 15 to 30 minutes.

Removed the CMOS battery and there was no power detected. The standby indicator remains on.

Hey Codedskyline, did you manage to fix the issue? I have the same board and the same problem. It worked fine before, then I relocated from Portland to San Francisco and kept my desktop boxed for nine months. Now it won’t boot—it powers on but no LEDs appear on the case. I’ve tried swapping RAM, resetting the RTC with a jumper, disconnecting and reconnecting power cables, etc. The AMD RYZEN 7 2700X G.SKILL TridentZ RGB series 32GB (2 x 16GB) motherboard with 288-pin DDR4 SDRAM, ASUS ROG Strix X470-F SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.1 HDMI ATX, plus a Samsung 970 EVO 500GB NVMe PCIe M.2 SSD and a Sapphire Radeon RX Vega 64 CORSAIR H115i RGB AIO liquid cooler, along with an IOGEAR Bluetooth 4.0 USB micro adapter and a GBU521 Fenvi WiFi card, all set.
