Hi, I just finished getting fiber and noticed the regular router didn’t cover much. I switched it to a special Archer C7 AC1750 V2 model to boost performance. You’re looking for ways to improve your computer’s internet speed, especially since you’re experiencing slowdowns—only about 100 Mbps down and 135 Mbps up when using the modem and router together. The Wi‑Fi icon in Windows shows full bars, but the actual connection isn’t strong enough. I’m here to help you find a better solution.

Reach out to your ISP; they could offer better guidance on setting up the router for fiber. Examine your router's configuration and note any adjustments that seem logical. Verify whether your router is compatible with DDPWRT.

All wireless options are exhausted. You can't adjust anything to boost your connection. Consider switching to a wired setup or try Ethernet through power adapters. Wireless simply won't match the speeds of a stable 300/300 link—realistically around 250.

I attempted to use Ethernet over power, but it didn't work. The power in this area is on a separate circuit from where the router is located.
