A significant quantity of components were contributed. I7-6700k, mb, two 970s plus additional parts. The main concern is that I believed I purchased a retail edition of Windows 10 and set it up on my previous machine (including FX6100/760GTX). Upon closer examination, the disc tray on my Windows 10 reads “oem systems builder.” Did I make a mistake? Or will I need to accept a new license or obtain another copy from Mircocenter?

It's a 50-50 situation. System builder keys are designed for one operating system only, without switching hardware. If the key is linked to your MS account, it should function properly. Otherwise, reach out to MS support. If you're okay with providing false information, you might activate it on new devices.
