Received a driver failure upon startup.
Here we have a Lenovo V510 running Windows 10 owned by a friend. Once it starts, the "set user settings to drive failed" message appears. The keyboard and trackpad stop working, along with the USB mouse and keyboard. I noticed the keyboard briefly turns on and off during boot, then the system crashes. It seems like a driver issue, though I’m not sure why it affects both devices. I wasn’t able to perform a safe boot. Any suggestions or solutions?
I recommend exploring recovery methods if possible. This could assist you. https://www.recoverlostpassword.com/wind...enovo.html
I would, though I can't wait any longer because the battery is running low. Once it's charged, I can plug it in and try to do whatever I need to do.
You might also attempt connecting your laptop's HDD/SSD to your desktop (disconnect all other drives) and simply restart to test if the issue lies with hardware or software. If the system starts up, you'll be able to identify the problem more clearly. The most effective solution is usually reinstalling Windows that functions properly.
It's similar on my Win 7 PC, yet different on this Windows 10 laptop. I was the first to attempt it, but it didn't work.
