Upgrading to the 14700k is on my mind. I prefer the white finish on the ASUS Prime board and haven’t found any BIOS flashback options. Need to enable 14th-gen support, but the CPU won’t work. Budget stays between $240–$300. Should new boards arrive with 14th-gen support via standard, or should I look elsewhere? Maybe consider a 13th-gen option instead.

This board lacks flashback functionality. Consider the Z690 Force if you want a more robust option overall.

They restricted this capability to the Strix boards for a specific reason; it doesn’t appear on the Prime or Tuf boards I’ve looked at.

Consider boards in the same budget or upgrade to the 13th generation, since the 14th isn’t significantly better.

The 14700 stands out as the top choice thanks to its four additional E-Cores. It’s not just affordable and white—this model performs well. The idea of something cheap and black isn’t holding up. The recommended option is just as solid as others. Most Gigabyte and MSI Z790 boards feature flashback technology.
