I have a problem with random reboots while playing ark survival online. Do not seem to have problems playing local game. Problem started about a month ago, had no issues the month before. I built machine mid Dec. 2020. It seems to be a random reboot. I could play for hours no problems, then it seemed to go about 6 hours then reboot, after it rebooted would go for hours and not reboot or go 2-3 hours then reboot. it now seems to reboot 15 mins. into game, reboots and then about 5 mins. again. Have not had issues with local game, or any other games played, surfing, or watching videos etc. I do not have any overclocking besides what ryzen master does in auto settings and Radeon software does. Sys. does not seem to be running hot (highest CPU temp I have seen is 70c using heaven benchmark, GPU temps have been 89-90c with factory fan settings) I have changed fan settings and get a temp. now of 70c with game running. When it reboots mon. goes black fans slow down, then pick up. wraith cooler rgb stays on as does lighting on graphics card. Then windows log in shows and everything seems normal. on the motherboard there are status LED's. Have had it stop on the VGA light, have to push and hold power button to force reboot again, but this very rare. I am using epic games version of game on Nitrado server. I have now the steam version also and got into game and it rebooted 15 mins. in and then when back in game it rebooted after 5 mins. Steam version is on Nitrado server also. Specs: ryzen 7 3700x w/ wraith cooler 16 Gb ballistix 3200 with DOCP enabled asus tuf gaming x570-plus (wi-fi) with latest bios powercolor red devil 5700xt (overclock switch on or off does not effect issue) version 21.2.2 inland 512 Gb NVME (boot drive) samsung 870 QVO 2Tb ssd evga supernova 750w 80 plus gold lian li 205 case (not best but is a budget build, have added 2, 140mm fans to front of case to help cooling) Question is, how should I go about narrowing this down to hardware or software or other? I have googled this and have not had good luck in finding a reasonable solution. I have latest drivers and win 10 updates installed. what programs would be recommended/needed for diagnosing what this issue is? any help is greatly appreciated.

It seems there was an issue with the PSU. Would you like to switch to a different type of failure? Do you have another PSU available for testing?

It happened when my GPU voltage module began to fail. Either the GPU was spiking and forcing the PSU to shut down, or the PSU was tripping on its own. I assume it's the GPU since you mentioned versions of Ark online are often heavily modified, leading to a heavy GPU workload. However, after spending over 3,000 hours in Ark, it might be a version of Ark, a driver update, or both, or even some random mod. It's hard to pinpoint, but I'd check the GPU and PSU if possible.

Thank you for sharing your details. I don’t have any spare parts available, unfortunately. I played a local game without any mods active and restarted after about 5 hours and 30 minutes. After some research, it seems EVGA has reported problems with their PSUs. The information provided matches what I’m experiencing. I’ll look into getting a new PSU as soon as possible. Regarding the GPU, we all know upgrades won’t be immediate. I was considering a 1000-watt PSU, which fits my future upgrade plans for a 30-series GPU. Hopefully it can support future upgrades. Any other suggestions or thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks again for the help.
