Rebel Galaxy Outlaw
Anyone playing this getting micro stuttering? The reps in their discord said that the game engine runs on one core and doesn't like overclocks which makes sense seeing as how it's 2005. Anyone having this? It's not exactly the wing commander 3/4/prophecy throwback I was looking for but I'd still like to play it.
Music's good at least.
To resolve issues with older games running on Windows 10, enable DirectPlay, which offers compatibility for older versions.
This adjustment is straightforward: navigate to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows Features On or Off; select Legacy Components and check the DirectPlay box, then confirm by clicking OK and restarting your computer.
Additionally, ensure that any necessary DirectX or Visual Studio components included within the game's folder are installed.
Rebel Galaxy Outlaw was released Aug 13, 2019. Directx and VS are usually installed automatically with games, at least in my experience. Either way, the game is installed through the Epic Game Store launcher and it doesn't tell you what it's installing just that it's installing. There aren't any files to manually install in the directory either. They already told me what it was, I was just wondering if anyone else with an overclock was having the same issue. The direct play thing didn't work. I did read this article that said this
"Micro stuttering (shudders and jolts while moving) happens when the game is not optimized properly, particularly when it’s played under multiple Direct X versions.
Disable latest Direct X version and restart your game. In case you are doing this please keep an eye on the patch notes for the Rebel Galaxy Outlaw game to know when it is fine to re-enable it. Micro stuttering can sometimes be a driver issue, it may be driver conflicting or maybe the latest driver not working well with Rebel Galaxy Outlaw game. In this case, you might need to wait for the new driver to fix it."

I can't control whether or not they optimize their game and I don't even know how you would go about playing a game using multiple directx versions. It's either one or the other. Dx12 is installed on my pc but the option to use dx11 is in games like bfv and others i don't remember. This game doesn't give that option and at every turn with these devs and their reps they have blamed me for the issue. It's whatever. There's only two of them and it shows. As for this article I don't think they know what they're talking about.
I'm just rambling...
I apologize, I am unfamiliar with this game and mistakenly understood your comment “since it’s 2005” as referring to its release year. Furthermore, you omitted your system specifications. The type of CPU utilized frequently contributes to microstuttering, particularly when considering the Spectre updates.
