Hey everyone! On my M1 Macbook Air, the 'tilde' key is close to the shift key, while where I expect a tilde next to '1', I see a "§". I’d like to use that symbol instead for switching windows in certain programs. I remember setting it up this way, but I’m stuck on how to do it and it’s hard to find help online. It seems like it might have been moved recently. In Sequoia, it worked after the update, but I reinstalled my laptop yesterday and can’t figure it out. Also, Textedit used to stop syncing with iCloud automatically, now it just starts a blank screen when I open it. I don’t see that option anymore and need to reset it to its original state. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You can use Karabiner Elements to change any key to another key or a group of keys. This helped me restore tilde back above the tab on my German keypad layout Macbook air with the US Dvorak setup in macOS.

It's not uncommon for features to shift from being available on one operating system to another.

On macOS you can change the behavior of control, option, command keys, etc., but standard character keys can't be remapped natively.
