You're weighing two popular gaming motherboards and considering Intel's reputation for privacy concerns. It's a good point about being cautious with network components. While these boards don't explicitly advertise spyware, the broader ecosystem around Intel has raised some red flags regarding data collection practices. If you're concerned about potential surveillance, it might be wise to explore alternatives or verify their security track record further.

People claimed CPU monitoring was just a hoax before things escalated

I'm more concerned about Windows telemetry than a physical surveillance tool. Unless you're on GNU/Linux or MacOS, your worry seems misplaced. Windows 10 remains essentially a large-scale monitoring system.

But it seems to have some impact too: So my setup only functions with the Intel NIC we’re aware of. Probably because the AMD CPU doesn’t require it (assuming PSP didn’t collaborate with Intel to enable compatibility). Anyway, I believe the GB board is a more solid choice, which might not be crucial, just like you mentioned with Windows 10—suggesting constant surveillance is expected.

The issue stays the same whether you're overly concerned—it’s possible to use a Realtek NIC board. Or you could turn off the built-in NIC and add a Realtek instead. I haven’t tested WireShark on this network or looked at how often Windows phones with telemetry data update, so I can’t confirm it runs continuously.

Those who want their gadgets to function smoothly and drivers to behave reliably often choose Intel products. If you're worried about network surveillance, simply use a firewall and keep an eye on traffic. You're unlikely to uncover anything. I also wonder what operating system you'll be using. If you mention Windows, I'm stepping away because it would create unfair expectations.

windows 10 is a hilarious media edition and gaming rig, honestly I don’t mind much, but still, whenever I’m looking for something, I think carefully about every option. That particular choice was just another consideration when deciding between Reatelk or Intel. Still, secretly, watching the hardware up close is crazy—why not steer clear when you can?
