It seems the demo replaced the real program, making it unusable.

You've worked in an IT team for a company, and their file storage setup is quite chaotic. Various programs are scattered everywhere, making it hard to locate specific files if you don't remember the exact location.

It's puzzling why this occurred, but I'm trying to figure it out.

It seems like you're questioning why someone was let go despite what might seem fair. Let me clarify the situation for you.

It's perfectly okay to seek guidance from your supervisor when needed—provided you can handle most tasks independently. During my summer internship in IT, I worked under someone who had been with the team for more than three years and regularly consulted the department head for simple queries.

The application is either completely free with an easy-to-find installer, or it's a paid product requiring access from a supervisor or colleague.

It seems you feel responsible for not being informed about the file's location. If you're unsure where it is and can't access a backup, the best option is to seek help from someone who knows where it is. There’s no alternative solution.
