Is this about generating excitement for VR in order to boost interest in Meta's latest glasses? It seems unlikely that someone would experience such strong enthusiasm over creating an account and sharing this.

I have to admit I don't really like VR these days, but that's impressive. It makes sense that some technology could keep up with human vision, which isn't very fast or accurate. I think it's possible for something to handle tracking and rendering effectively. (By the way, I enjoy VR, but I prefer AR more. Back in the 90s things were rough—low resolution and 20 frames per second—but those games had a certain charm!)
I think one of the biggest problems with VR is that the coolest games (except Alyx) are mods... RE7 & 8 VR mods are amazing. It has the deep story of a full PC game. But it is such a difference if you are looking at a flat screen with an xbox controller in your hand or really standing in a dark house where big daddy is following you... You would not dare to just walk around, you carefully and slowly look around every corner ... in fear There is Portal 2 VR... insanely good (and not as motion sickening as you might think!). Its so amazing standing physically in front of a portal... which is in fact larger than yourself. Which is never is on any flat screen. And then walking through it. Hard to describe. All UE5 games can easily be transformed to VR. You wanted to be on Pandora after watching the first Avatar movie? Well... There is the Frontiers of Pandora VR Mod: But with each of these mods, you have to get a hand on the base games first, then exchange dll files, edit some config files... for me this is not a problem. I am using emulators with improved texture packs and other kinds of mods for playing consoles my whole life so I dont need the fancy full screen media library screen which offers me games. I am a windows person and I dont mind if it takes some clicks each time before I start sth. But most ppl want to put their headset on and start. I think this experience is only available on PS5 at the moment... also with some nice games, especially if you are into racing. This dynamic rendering solution is working "out of the box" as I said before. But yes... its not a box which is easy to find. I really hope this will be part of official SteamVR settings which makes games run a lot smoother. Older hardware would suddenly be an option... Maybe with newer headsets there will be adaptive sync as well. If a range of 85-110 fps can be displayed without stuttering at some point (which for itself is actually a good performance! But still looks like crap), we could run alyx easily with an intel Gen 6 processor and a GTX 1070... Thats it for me on this topic. I just wanted to spread this news because I did not see any article or news on this dynamic foveated rendering possibility, really just 1-2 videos. I think this deserves a lot more attention. Cheers
Another good observation about the mods. I hadn’t considered it before, but I’m in agreement—if almost all games had VR support, things would be different. Right now most VR games are adapted for that platform, which isn’t ideal. I also thought about it: if every game also supported 3D, it would be even better since it feels similar without needing heavy hardware. You could even have "VR controls" meaning tracking rather than full VR dependence. The dream would be VR plus AR in every title, which would really enhance the experience (though it’d need careful implementation). I mean, imagine being in someone else’s house instead of just your own—best scenario!
