Re-activating Windows Rig Move?
You’ve reinstalled Windows 10 on your new PC using Microsoft tools, but you need the old key linked to your Microsoft account. Since you already have that association, you can retrieve it by logging into your Microsoft account settings and checking the activation status or using the Microsoft Store features for previous versions.
Locate your Windows activation code. A product key is a 25-character string used to turn on Windows. It typically appears as a code provided by Microsoft. If you’re restarting Windows 10, you might not need the key. For details on activation in Windows 10, refer to the relevant section. The key’s origin affects where it’s stored: from an authorized seller, in packaging, or on a COA. A digital version can come via a confirmation email or as a license if you purchased Windows 10 without a physical key. If you upgraded from Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10, you’ll receive a digital license instead.
