someone is asking if anyone else experiences the issue where the games launcher stops working when trying to launch RDR2. They mention having installed all updates and tried various online options without success.

Rockstar has acknowledged that the Launcher wasn't prepared for the release of RDR2 and has been working tirelessly to fix bugs and glitches. They are now updating the launcher every 12 hours or so. It’s best to be patient and wait for their fixes, possibly trying to clear everything and reinstall tomorrow, as they should have made significant progress by then. The game also faces performance problems, especially on nVidia, and the Vulkan API has been reported as very unstable. It seems Rockstar may have taken over Ubisoft’s efforts with a poorly optimized PC version. Hopefully, the recent updates will address these issues.

The final solution came when I updated my bios. The ASUS Prime X470 Pro, running on AGESA 1.0.0.3 AB, worked properly after switching to 1.0.0.3 ABBA, even with the latest launcher and game updates.

I question if the Bios is connected to this.

A few anti-virus programs create issues with the launcher. I use Kaspersky Premium, and it functions properly. Attempt to turn off your antivirus to test.

that was my thinking as well but none of the rockstar suggestions worked then the bios change finally did it for me.    there's a large reddit discussion about certain bios versions being issues and many are having luck either updating to latest or rolling back slightly depending on chip/boards
happy to be playing.   gorgeous game

It's perfect for you now. This seems to be the first game in history that truly values the Bios, if that's the main concern. The game is great, but the normal NPCs are really tough, and when I fight back, I turn into the villain. Overall, I really like it.

I believe Destiny 2 received a bios update for Ryzen 3000 processors. The Reddit discussion is mentioned here in case you're still experiencing problems 19_blackie_73 and wish to attempt it.
