Ensure you are using Windows 10 version 1809 or higher for DXR availability.
Updating drivers might also be necessary.

drivers are current, how do I obtain that version of windows? i checked for updates and i am up to date.

Navigate to Settings -> Systems -> About. Identify "Version" within the "Windows Specifications" area.

I've made the necessary changes and ray tracing remains active for me, even with an RTX 2070.
