I tried using the built-in GPU for the first time, but it causes issues with certain apps. When I open games or Steam programs, they launch but then freeze and stop working. I can't close them properly either—Steam still shows them running even after closing. The Task Manager doesn’t help; it just launches new programs without closing anything. This only happens when using the integrated GPU. I’ve reinstalled drivers, changed RAM placement, and used one stick per slot. Temperatures look normal with the other GPU, but I can’t verify because hwinfo isn’t working. What else should I try to figure out what’s wrong? Firefox, Discord, Steam launcher seem fine. What still doesn’t respond: hwinfo, any game or app, AutoCAD, Task Manager. System specs: Windows 11 64-bit, R5 7600, 16GB RAM, ASRock B650M HDV/M.2, BIOS updated today.
Not answering indicates the program freezes or runs extremely slowly, making Windows unable to respond when prompted. Check Event Viewer for errors or warnings that could help identify the issue. Have you taken out the failing GPU from your computer, updated its drivers, and installed new drivers for the integrated graphics?
Another point is that the integrated graphics in your CPU are quite weak. You shouldn't anticipate playing games on it. It works fine for writing, spreadsheets, and basic desktop tasks, but not for actual gaming.
