Hello, this is just a check on who updated their 13th or 14th gen microcode and when. I'm also looking to see if anyone is still facing these issues: problems with the Chromium Embedded Framework in Steam, Epic Game Launcher, various game launchers, Spotify, Discord, Slack, and RPG Maker MV or MZ, plus any app that attempts to check for updates—like Chrome or Firefox when playing videos. There are also crashes in MPC-HC, OBS Studio, Davinci Resolve, Netflix or DisneyPlus when streaming, and issues with video playback, scrubbing, or decompression errors.
Additionally, I noticed problems with Chrome and Firefox freezing during video playback, even on different GPUs. Some users reported decompression errors with 7zip and issues with the NVIDIA driver installer. There’s also a memory access violation happening when using tools like Krita or UE4/UE5.
In October of the previous year, I experienced these problems before a RMA for Intel at 0x12B. After the CPU update, stability improved until about three weeks ago when issues reappeared. I’ve been told the CPU is degrading, and I’m considering returning it for replacement.
I’ve kept my system stock except for adjusting PWM fan settings, and the only recent change was turning off XMP. I’m wondering how long it takes for the CPU to start failing again—based on past experiences, if it starts now, it could be about six months.
If others are using 0x12B and haven’t had issues, and upgraded to 0x12F, I’d expect continued stability. But I think the CPU is deteriorating and should be replaced soon. The warranty for this issue has expired, so I’m hoping it’s safe to go through the RMA process.
hasn't been modified recently (appears to be newly added for my board) and there have been no problems with my 13900K since purchasing it in April 2013. Will make an update soon. For your situation, consider testing a RAM swap since these symptoms might indicate a faulty component rather than the CPU.
AI is now included in BIOS systems too? That's surprising. I don't believe those statistics hold much weight or make logical sense. It seems modern high-end motherboard BIOSes need a solid Windows XP baseline to function properly—I can't picture anything being this advanced. Off-topic, but I had to mention it.
Asus has been adjusting their settings for about 20 years, and the latest update is functioning as intended.
Intel's release notes mention that a PC left idle with minimal activity for several days might still experience issues after installing 0x12B microcode.
