Rapid, uneven movement at high frame rates (applies to every title)
Hello, I'm exhausted from repeatedly trying to resolve this problem and now I'm counting on the community for help. The frames keep choppy during gameplay, which began a few days ago. I plan to use Doom Eternal with its debug overlay since it offers good performance visualization. I've observed that only about 20% of my GPU is being utilized. Additionally, the Desktop Window Manager fluctuates between 2-40% usage when the system runs. A friend suggested the issue could stem from the GPU not clearing buffers quickly enough. I'm unsure how to verify or fix this but would appreciate any advice. Please review the attached images for more details. My attempts so far include reinstalling GPU drivers, adjusting game settings in Windows 10 Pro (version 21H2), installing the Experience Pack, and updating the driver to version 31.0.15.2737. The GPU is an RTX 3080 with a CPU of Ryzen 9 5900X. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Hi, I have two 4K 144Hz monitors and haven’t seen any variation after testing them both.
Black screen flash due to driver issues? Adjust optimal configurations for all games via drivers, apply specific settings in PROFILE mode. FPS cannot be limited below 144hz; ensure drivers have Enhanced Sync (AMD) and Fast Sync (nVidia) enabled, and disable v-sync in the game. If your monitor supports it, test Freesync/G-Sync as well, confirming it's active in drivers. Verify the game is set to 144hz; otherwise, it will revert to its default resolution. Maximum FPS should be set to 144hz.
