Hello, I generally attempt to resolve issues myself, looking for solutions and guidance. This challenge is unlike anything I've encountered before, and I'm struggling to find a reference for a similar setup. I'll now share all my specifications. The build took place in April of this year, using all the latest parts: CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X CPU Cooler: Lian Li GALAHAD AIO 360 Motherboard: MSI MPG B550 GAMING PLUS ATX AM4 Memory: G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 Memory Storage: Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1 TB M.2-2280 NVME (boot) + Samsung 970 Evo Plus 2 TB M.2-2280 NVME Video Card: Gainward GeForce RTX 3080 10 GB LHR Phantom Case: Metallic Gear NEO Qube ATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2021) 850 W 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply Case Fan: Lian Li UNI SL120 58.54 CFM 120 mm Fans 3-Pack + additional units with the AIO. The system would power down during heavy usage, or more specifically from the high temperatures observed. Initially, it failed when I removed a faulty exhaust fan (from a defective batch), which happened around July. During operation, it would crash once, restarting but failing to boot the SSD in BIOS. The drive sat near the GPU and became extremely hot, prompting immediate opening of the case. After some time, it started again, but thermal limits were reached—around 80°C. Once stabilized, it would shut down abruptly: BIOS rebooted, then the monitor output cut off, audio disappeared, and lights on keyboard and mouse vanished. Internally, fans continued running at the default speed. Another unusual occurrence was the power button malfunctioning and the flashing light ceasing. Only by disconnecting power could it be turned off. This repeated twice. On Monday, after attempting a fix, I suspected the MSI software might have set default settings too low. I limited GPU temperatures to 70°C instead of 80°C. It seemed to work initially, but later it failed again. I tried setting the GPU to max 65°C, the lowest safe setting for GeForce. Eventually, I realized I needed caution. I also set the GPU to shut down automatically at 65°C. Today, I was proven incorrect. Usually, I return home, play briefly, put the PC to sleep while eating, and come back. This time, the PC failed to restart again—its power button stayed stuck, and pressing it briefly lit it up before shutting down. This prompted me to document everything... except the crash occurred while writing this! This time, it wasn't under stress—just opened Chrome with music, and I connected while waiting. The PC crashed when I switched songs. On Monday, it crashed while playing Valorant and having Chrometabs open for video prep. It booted back, but after a few tabs, it crashed again. I limited GPU temps to 65°C and restarted Valorant. It handled the video well. Now, instead of troubleshooting, I'm just typing this while listening to music. When it switched songs, the crash happened. I'm worried because I don't have other components to test, and my only compatible PCs are an old one with DDR-2 RAM and a PSU of 700W. I'm unsure if overheating, a faulty PSU, or a bad CPU is the issue. The NVMe drives shouldn't be the problem since they would boot normally instead of going black. I haven't done a BIOS update and feel anxious about it. Other tips: I recorded temperatures with MSI Afterburner, showing CPU temps between 45°C and 60°C. I ran a malware scan—no threats found. Thank you for your prompt reply! The XMP profile was already running, I just changed the chipset and turned off hibernation and hybrid sleep. I plan to update the BIOS tomorrow because of the approaching storm, as it wouldn’t be ideal at that time. If it takes longer than expected, I’ll sign off as the fix, and if it works later, I’ll check how to reopen this thread. Appreciate the help!
