Hey everyone,
I’m facing an odd stability problem with my PC and I’m not sure what’s behind it.
My setup includes:
Ryzen 7 9700X
RX 6600 XT
ASUS ROG Strix B850-A WiFi
32GB [2x16] DDR5 6000
Arctic Liquid Freezer III 240
Corsair TX550M PSU

The issue appears during gameplay and medium load: the system freezes briefly, all fans spike to maximum speed instantly, and then everything stops completely. There’s no BSOD or error screen—just a total shutdown.

Important point: This occurs even with the default BIOS settings—no PBO, no EXPO/XMP, no overclocking. It doesn’t seem like a voltage or tuning problem. CPU temperatures stay normal (max around 55°C in games), and the AIO pump is functioning properly.

This only happens occasionally under medium or high load. I’m starting to think my Corsair TX550M might struggle with the sudden power spikes from the Ryzen 7000 series, even though 550W seems sufficient.
Anyone else have experienced something similar?
Is it a PSU issue, poor transient response, or something else I should consider?

Thanks in advance! ❤️🍀

Seems like a PSU load issue. Run a stress test or test with another Tier A unit with higher wattage.

Corsair RM750e 80+ Gold ATX 3.1, fully modular i placed. I believe the issue originated from the power supply.

Confirm if this is indeed from the PSU.

This will function, but it's advisable to test first to identify the issue component, before committing. Your TXM unit is quite outdated, so you'll still need one.
