I don't understand what's going on. My computer might freeze, restart, or go black unexpectedly. Sometimes it happens by itself, or I'm using Opera GX which causes restarts. I tried opening the Star Citizen launcher, but it also restarts. I'm unsure what's happening and wonder if updating the BIOS would help. Please assist me.

Begin by verifying another browser to confirm if the issue persists. If it does, clear all browser-related data as uninstallation may retain remnants even after removal. Reinstall the same application to reset any leftover files. Update your BIOS if possible, and consider enabling the previous BIOS settings to avoid recent changes causing instability. Finally, execute chkdsk /f c: to detect any disk errors.

It works well on Microsoft Edge. I plan to update the BIOS on Thursday, and I’ll remove Opera and verify the disk.

Run checkdsk first to identify problematic blocks, which will flag them as bad and prevent writing. Since Opera is a safer browser option compared to Edge, reinstalling it isn't necessary.

CheckDisk scans the disk for errors, verifies data integrity, and ensures everything is functioning properly.

You're wondering if it's necessary to update the BIOS after fixing your computer. It depends on your system and manufacturer recommendations. Check the documentation or support site for guidance.
