Hi, I've been facing some issues with my PC lately. It keeps restarting unexpectedly, and after that, the screen goes black. Even turning it off and on doesn't solve the problem—it only stops power when I cut the electricity. I noticed this started after I downloaded drivers from the official site, especially since my internet connection is really unreliable and keeps fluctuating for a few minutes at a time. After uninstalling the drivers, it still happens, though less often.
I installed two driver packages: Realtek High Definition Audio (version 6.0.9231.1) and AMD chipset driver (version 3.10.22.706). I did this hoping to improve my internet connection, but it seems the problem only appeared after a Windows reinstall. My PC specs are: ASRock AB350 Pro4 CPU, AMD Ryzen 7 1700X, GTX 1070 GPU, 1TB SSD for games and usage, plus a 2TB HDD with 8GB RAM at 3000MHz. I’m using Windows 10.
I tried troubleshooting steps like checking event logs and reading system logs, but couldn’t fix anything. Before the drivers, I never had issues, and I always uninstalled them afterward. The internet problem started after the Windows update, which is frustrating since it seems to be getting worse. The power supply in my home doesn’t fail, so that’s not the cause. Other devices on the same outlet don’t stop working either.
I searched online for solutions, but nothing worked. I’m not sure what to do next—especially since the thread is about restarts, but if you know anything about internet issues, I’d really appreciate your help. The fact that this hasn’t happened before is upsetting, because it probably relates to the driver installation, but nothing seems to help.
I checked some time ago (not too long before this began – before the Windows reinstall or driver updates – it ran smoothly), but having no issues at that point made me wonder if there’s a setting I should look into.
